Eco Maui Koa handcrafts naturally fallen and salvaged hardwoods into
valuable pieces of one-of-a-kind furniture and art.
Jitendra Russell leads a team of talented craftspeople building conference
tables, dining room sets, writing tables, benches, alters and other custom pieces.
His organic designs allow the wood's grain and natural character to fully

Koa is the King of Hawaiian hardwoods and is in extremely limited supply.
Maui's old-growth Koa was harvested out in the 1800's and the range today is
dominated by an overgrowth of invasive Eucalyptus.
In 2005 Jitendra Russell,
a woodworker of 30 years, discovered an extensive grove of Koa re-growth,
weakened by competition and naturally fallen by high winds. He established
Eco Maui Koa to salvage this rare and enchanting hardwood.
The effort has
expanded to the mainland and includes naturally fallen Hickory, Black
Walnut, Birdseye Maple, Cypress, Cedar, Norfolk Pine, Cherry...
